You Inspire Me - Delicate Dahlias - #FMS504

You Inspire Me - Delicate Dahlias - #FMS504

Hello again! Today's card is one I have entered into the Freshly Made Sketches #FMS504 Sketch Challenge this week. I love clean and simple designs but I always have trouble pulling it back to stop adding more and more decorative elements. I think I managed to fill the brief for the sketch and also keep to a relatively clean and simple card.

Now I will admit this card was originally a full sized 'slimline' card but a stray droplet of water ended my plans for that after I had stamped the images and ruined one side of my stamped card. But what do you do as a crafter... you often try to make it work. I ended up making a mini slimline card and to be honest I like it more than my planned full size card.

For this card I used the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set. This free Sale-a-bration set is available if you spend over AUD$180 in the Australian Stampin' Up!® store. Don't forget Sale-a-bration is finishing on the 30th September so you only have a few more days to get this set.

Instructions:

- Use a piece of Smoky Slate card, cut in half and fold. Use a piece of Basic White card and stamp the Delicate Dahlias image over it using Fresh Freesia ink. Add some dots to the background to add visual interest using a Fresh Freesia Stampin' Write Marker. Attach a strip of black cardstock and a strip of scored Basic Gray card using Liquid Glue to attach it to the stamped white card.  Attach this to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Stamp a sentiment from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set onto Basic Black card with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Attach the sentiment to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Cut a piece of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon into half lengthwise and tie two bows from the two half strips. Attach the bows to the front to the card near the sentiment using Mini Glue Dots. Add some Rhinestone Basic Jewels that have been coloured with a Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends (dark).

You Inspired Me - Delicate Dahlias - Colour INKspiration challenges #CI105

You Inspired Me - Delicate Dahlias - Colour INKspiration challenges #CI105

Hello again! Today's card is one I have entered this into the Colour INKspiration Challenges #CI105, where the colour challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Mango Melody, Fresh Freesia and Old Olive.

I used one of my favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue - the Delicate Dahlias stamp set. This set is a free Sale-a-bration item for spending over AUD$180 in a single order. See THIS post for more information on Sale-a-bration.

Instructions:

- Use a piece of Very Vanilla A4 card, cut in half lengthwise and folded. Use a piece Basic White card and blend Mango Melody onto it using Blending Brushes. Attach this piece to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach a slightly smaller piece of Very Vanilla card to the piece of blended Basic White using Liquid Glue.

Use the Delicate Dahlias set and stamp multiple flowers and leaves onto Very Vanilla card using Versamark. Heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Using Blending Brushes, apply Fresh Freesia ink to the flowers and Old Olive ink to the leaves. Vary the amount of ink laid down to create interest. Fussy cut the flowers and leaves out and attach to the card using both Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Stamp a sentiment from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set using Versamark onto Basic Black card and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Attach the sentiment to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Add some Rhinestone Basic jewels which have been coloured with Mango Melody Stampin' Blends (now retired) to the card.

- Once the card is assembled, use the Mango Melody Stampin' Blends to add some dots to the background to mimic splatter.

Thank You Kindly - Delicate Dahlias - Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop July 2021

Thank You Kindly - Delicate Dahlias - Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop July 2021

Hello and welcome back to my blog. You are visiting Ann Alexander from Australia. Today I have a card for the "Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop". Our theme this month is "Make It Sparkle". I decided to go big on the sparkle on this card. If you follow me, you would know I love gold or gold accents on cards, but this card definitely allowed me to let my inner sparkle come out. I used the 'Be Dazzling' Designer Series Paper and the Delicate Dahlias stamp set from Stampin' Up!® which are both brand new Sale-a-bration items. My main photo is taken outside so you can see more of the sparkle as well as a video to show it off some more.

Instructions:

- Use a piece of Basic Black card A4/Letter cut in half lengthwise and folded.

- Use a smaller piece of the Be Dazzling DSP and adhere to the card base using Liquid Glue. Use another piece of Basic Black card splattered with Clear Wink of Stella and attach this layer to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Use a piece of Paper Lattice and apply Versamark to the whole piece and then heat emboss  with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. Apply dabs of Liquid Glue to the back and attach to the card.

- Stamp the Delicate Dahlias onto Basic White card with Versamark and heat emboss with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. Apply Clear Wink of Stella to the Dahlias. Stamp the leaves onto Vellum with Versamark and then heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder (I actually used leftovers from this card). Fussy cut both the flowers and the leaves and attach to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.

- Stamp the sentiment from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set using Tuxedo Black ink onto a small strip of Basic White and attach to a piece of the Be Dazzling DSP. Attach the sentiment to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Use some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add some final sparkle to the card.

Measurements:

- Basic Black Card base A4/Letter cut in half lengthwise and folded

- Be Dazzling  DSP: A4 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"/ 14.4 x 10 cm or Letter 4" x 5 1/4"

- Basic Black: A4 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"/ 13.9 x 9.5 cm or Letter 3 3/4" x 5"

I hope the card you've seen here on my blog today has inspired you to create something today. You are currently visiting Ann Alexander. You Inspire Me - Delicate Dahlias - #GDP300

You Inspire Me - Delicate Dahlias - #GDP300

Hello again! Today's card is one I have entered into the Global Design Project #GDP300 CASE the designer challenge this week. This week's challenge is to case a design from the amazing GDP Design Team Member Steffi Helmschrott.

I used the Delicate Dahlias stamp set from the upcoming Stampin' Up!® Sale-a-bration Catalogue (August-September). I also used the Stampin' Blends and Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.

Don't forget that you can earn this stamp set if you spend more than AUD $180 in August and September.

Instructions:

- Use a piece of Highland Heather A4 card, cut in half lengthwise. Mat a piece of the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper with Liquid Glue.

Use the piece of Stampin' Up! Vellum and add some colour from a Stampin' Blends marker (Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue). Add some high strength Isopropyl Alcohol (I used the Australian brand Diggers 99% Isopropyl Alcohol), either via adding drops of the alcohol onto the coloured area or using the sprayer.

- Add each colour one at time and move the colour around using a straw or air blower. Keep adding colour until you are satisfied. Attach the Vellum to Thick Basic White card using sponged Liquid Glue spread over the back of the Vellum. Attach the card/vellum layer to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Stamp two of the the large Dahlia from the Delicate Dahlias set onto another piece of Vellum with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Colour the back of one of the flowers with Stampin' Blends (Blackberry Bliss, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue). Attach the uncoloured flower to the card using Liquid Glue and the second flower on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Stamp the sentiment from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set using Highland Heather Ink onto Thick Basic White card. Attach to the card using Stampin Dimensionals.

- Add some Rhinestone Basic jewels (coloured with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends) to the card.

Don't forget to subscribe to my newsletter as I will have dimensions for this card.
