Scrappy Strip Mosaic Technique Christmas Card

Do you start singing Christmas songs when you start making Christmas cards? For me that also happens when I see Christmas stamp sentiments too.

Today I am posting a card that might be one of my favourite cards ever, and it was really so simple to create. I used inspiration from the "Scrappy strips" technique that Bruno Bertucci demonstrated, combined with the inspiring Mosaic Card made by Linda Driggs.

To make this card:

1) I used a Crumb Cake cardstock as my base (A4 cut in half lengthwise then folded in half).

2) I used a piece of Crumb Cake card that was the approximately the size of a card front and attached irregular sized but long strips of Gold and Silver Foil, Shaded Spruce, Garden Green, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler cardstock as per the 'Scrappy Strips technique' making sure that they were evenly spaced apart. I attached each piece using Liquid Multipurpose Glue.

3) Once the glue had dried, I then used my paper trimmer to cut the whole piece (with the strips adhered as previous) into more 'Scrappy Strips' which then gave it the mosaic look.

4) I used another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 5 5/8"  x 3 7/8" (14.1cm x 9.8cm). I measured the midpoint on the top side, used a ruler and pencil to sketch a line from the bottom right and bottom left corner to the top midpoint to make a triangle and then trimmed it down once I was happy with the shape.

 5) I then attached the 'Mosaic Scrappy Strips' onto the Crumb Cake triangle shaped card and trimmed off the overhanging edges with a pair of scissors.

6) I then attached the 'Mosaic Triangle' onto a piece of Gold Foil using Stampin' Dimensionals, (which I did not measure at the time, but ensured it provided a border) and is approximately 5 3/4" x 4 1/16" (14.7 cm x 10.4cm).

7) I stamped a sentiment from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a Crumb Cake cardstock strip and then matted it onto some Gold Foil cardstock.

8) I then attached the whole card panel onto then Crumb Cake base (A4 cardstock cut in half and folded lengthwise) using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

9) I used some of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels to decorate the top of the card to add a bit of sparkle and give the impression of Christmas ornaments.

10) I used a scrap piece of the Mosaic Strips on the inside of the card.

Card supplies:

This card is so textured and bright and sparkly due to all the gold and silver foil. I hope you give this card a try.
