Made with Love - Curvy Dies and Scrappy Strips

Welcome back to my blog. Well I was blown away by the interest in my last card with the scrappy strips/mosaic technique. I am hoping to do more of these in the future (and hopefully a tutorial), but I think you might get bored if that's all that I post.

The card I am posting today, was made the same day as my previous card, and I decided to use the same "Scrappy Strips" technique. As I mentioned in my last post, this month marks the release of Stampin' Up!®  Curvy Celebrations/Quite Curvy Variety Bundle, and I am in love with the Curvy dies which are just so versatile.

It is coming up towards summer in Australia so I wanted to use bright colours for this card.

For this card, I used the Curvy Dies from the Curvy Celebrations bundle.

I used a standard Whisper White A4 card base cut in half, then used a card front sized piece of Basic Black cardstock and attached it to the front of the card with some removable tape. I then used the Curvy Die and die cut and created the curve with the Whisper White/Basic Black at the same time to ensure they were the same shape.

I created Scrappy Strips (strips of cardstock cut into random shaped long strips) and glued them onto the die cut piece of Basic Black card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue leaving approximately 1/16th " (2mm) gaps between each piece. I used the following colours

- Magenta Madness

- Mango Melody

- Daffodil Delight

- Granny Apple Green

- Coastal Cabana

- Bermuda Bay

- Gorgeous Grape

I left the strips to dry to avoid "gluing up" my trimmer. Once they were dry,  I trimmed the overhanging strips. I trimmed the straight edge using my trimmer, however I used scissors to trim along the curved edge,

I attached the Scrappy strips/Basic Black piece onto the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped a sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink from the 'Quite Curvy"' stamp set onto the Whisper White card base.
