Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I am hopping with some friends on Instagram for the August 2022 Instahop. We are an international group of stamping friends and the theme for August is spotlighting the masking technique. Stampin' Up!® released Masking Paper recently which makes this technique so easy!

For my card I used products from the Storybook Gnomes Suite Collection including the Kindest Gnomes stamp set, and Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems. I used ink blending to create the background and coloured the images with Stampin' Blends.

Instructions:

- Use Tahitian Tide A4 card cut in half lengthwise and folded for the card base. Layer with a piece of Basic White.

- Stamp the girl gnome from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set using Tuxedo Black onto a piece of Basic White and also onto a piece of masking paper. Fussy cut the masking paper and apply over the stamped image. Stamp the toadstool from the Kindest Gnomes set onto both the card and also onto a masking paper. Fussy cut the toadstool from the masking paper out and apply over the top of the card.

- Use blending brushes to apply Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide ink to mimic grass and sky and add details with Stampin' Blends (Parakeet Party, Gray Granite and Bronze)

- Colour the gnome and toadstool with Stampin' Blends (Parakeet Party, Ivory & Bronze, Pool Party, Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Gray Granite).

- Stamp the sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set using Tahitian Tide ink onto a strip of Basic White and adhere to the card. Adhere some Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems to the card and the toadstool. Add a piece of White Twine in a bow and adhere to the gnome's hat.
