Hello and welcome back to my blog. I have a card for you today that I created for the Global Design Project Challenge #291 this week. The challenge this week is a 'theme challenge" featuring a "Birthday" theme.
I decided to use one of the very cute new stamp sets "Stellar Birthday" from the brand new Stampin' Up® Annual Catalogue, and combined it with a whole lot of ink blending and the new "Picture This" Dies.
Instructions:
- Use a piece of Basic Black card for the base A4 cut in half lengthwise and folded.
- Use another slightly smaller piece of Basic White and attach it to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Use a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, and blend the following inks onto it - Bermuda Bay, Polished Pink, Gorgeous Grape, Misty Moonlight and Tuxedo Black using the Blending Brushes. Once happy with the blend, spritz some water and dab off, then splatter some Wink of Stella to create a galaxy/starry look to the card.
- Use the Picture This Dies to cut circles from the blended card. Keep the circles to re-place on the finished card.
- Stamp the sentiment and images from the Stellar Birthday stamp set onto Basic White card and colour with stamping blends. Fussy cut the images out and trim the sentiment. Mat the sentiment onto a piece of Polished Pink card.
- Cut another piece of Basic White card to the same size as the blended Shimmery White card. Stamp some of the stars in the Stellar Birthday stamp set onto the Basic White using Tuxedo Black corresponding with the smaller circles in the blended card. Use the Blending Brushes to add some of the previous ink colours to it, and colour the stars with Highland Heather blends. Attach this piece to the blended card with Liquid Glue.
- Attach the larger die cut circles back onto the blended card into their correspond die cut holes (rotated to add interest), using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach the sentiment and the images onto the larger circles using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Use Wink of Stella on the Rocket image and the smaller circles.
- Adhere some 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels to the card.
As always, I find that the shimmer on the card never really photographs well, so I have added a quick video below to show you some of the shine on the card.
